Meet the Builder
Hi, I'm Justin. I'm a Texas-born software developer, musician, and dad of three.
I grew up in a small Texas town where I was always building something. After college, I moved to Austin to play music full time for a year before starting my career in software. Since 2006, I've worked in software development and connected devices, including 6.5 years managing an engineering team at Roku.
In late 2025, I set out to build something for my own family.
Why Cubby Box?
With kids now ages 12, 14, and 16, I noticed a few things. Some kids struggle with organization. Most kids have no idea what their belongings are actually worth. And room cleanings always turned into the same cycle: “Is this good?” “Not yet.” “What about now?”
I wanted to build something that made organizing feel less like a chore and more like something kids actually wanted to do. Something that helped families keep track of what they own, what it's worth, and where it all lives.
Cubby Box is that idea brought to life. It's built by a dad, for families, right here in Austin, Texas.
