Refund Policy
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
This Refund Policy describes how refunds work for Cubby Box subscriptions and in-app purchases. By using the App, you agree to this policy along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
This policy applies to residents of the United States and Canada, the only regions where Cubby Box is offered. See our Privacy Policy section on Geographic Scope and Applicable Laws for the full list of applicable jurisdictions.
1. How Refunds Work
Cubby Box subscriptions and credit purchases are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Apple and Google handle the payment processing, billing, and most refund requests directly. We do not receive payment card or billing details from you, and we do not process refunds independently of the stores in most cases.
To request a refund for a Cubby Box purchase, your first step is almost always to contact the store where the purchase was made:
- Apple App Store: Submit a refund request through Apple's official refund flow at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews each request against its own refund policies and decides whether to approve.
- Google Play Store: Submit a refund request through Google's official refund flow at play.google.com, under Order History. Google reviews each request against its own refund policies and decides whether to approve.
Approval is solely at Apple's or Google's discretion. Cubby Box has no ability to override or appeal a store's refund decision.
2. Subscriptions
Cubby Box offers Plus and Premium subscription tiers on monthly, six-month, and annual billing cycles.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. You can cancel any time through your device's subscription management settings without contacting us.
- Canceling a subscription: When you cancel, you keep access to the paid features through the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate or refund the unused portion of a current period when you cancel mid-cycle.
- Recent renewals: If your subscription renewed unexpectedly, contact Apple or Google promptly. Both stores have policies for refunding recent unintended renewals, and both decide case by case.
3. Cubby Credits
Cubby Credits are consumable virtual goods purchased through the App Store or Google Play Store. They are used for AI-powered features such as Cubby Vision and Cubby Calculator.
- Unused Cubby Credits: Once delivered to your account, Cubby Credits are not refundable through Cubby Box. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Apple or Google directly per Section 1.
- Consumed Cubby Credits: Credits already used for AI-powered features are not refundable under any circumstances. Each use of an AI feature consumes credits according to the rate shown in the App at the time of use.
- Account closure: If you delete your account, any remaining Cubby Credits are forfeited and are not refundable in cash or other goods.
4. Cubby Coins and Virtual Items
Cubby Coins are an in-App virtual currency earned through use of the App. Cubby Coins are not purchased with real money and have no monetary value. Cubby Coins, gameplay rewards, badges, customization items, and other virtual content are not redeemable for cash or real-world goods and are not refundable.
5. Refunds for Kid Accounts and Unauthorized Purchases
If a child in your household made a purchase you did not authorize, contact Apple or Google directly to request a refund. Both stores treat unauthorized minor purchases as a recognized refund category and review them sympathetically when reported promptly.
To prevent unauthorized purchases in the future, we recommend enabling parental controls and purchase authorization at the device level. Apple offers Screen Time and Ask to Buy. Google offers Parental Controls and purchase approval requirements through Family Link.
Cubby Box is designed to require ongoing adult engagement for purchases. Subscriptions and Cubby Credits cannot be initiated from inside a kid account profile. Both require the parent account to authorize the purchase. If you discover an unauthorized purchase that bypassed these safeguards, please contact us at support@getcubbybox.com along with your refund request to the store so we can investigate.
6. Direct Contact for Edge Cases
For situations not covered by Apple's or Google's standard refund flows, you can contact us at support@getcubbybox.com. We review direct requests case by case. We do not promise a refund in any specific scenario, and we cannot process refunds that the store has already declined.
We aim to respond to direct refund inquiries within 48 to 72 hours during business days. Response times may be longer during holidays, weekends, or other periods of reduced support coverage.
7. Chargebacks and Disputes
Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer for a Cubby Box purchase before requesting a refund through Apple or Google may result in your account being suspended or terminated, consistent with the App Store and Google Play user agreements. We ask that you work through the store refund process first and contact us directly if the situation is not resolved.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes that affect your existing rights will be communicated in the App or by email to your account holder.
